"I see a world in the future in which we understand that all life is related to us and we treat that life with great humility and respect. I see us as well as social creatures, and when I began to look back and say, 'what is the fundamental bottom line for us as social creatures?'...I couldn't believe it because it seemed so hippy dippy, but it was Love. Love is the force that makes us fully human."

Art Miles and Endangered Planet Foundation sponsored the painting of 30 more environmental murals with more than 250 children on 2nd and 6th of February about the URBAN OCEAN at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. The EPF and Supercolor 10 foot model pyramid was a huge hit with the crowds as well as Technology, Education and Design (TED) participants who joined in on painting 2 special murals of their own. Thanks to the staff of LBAOP we were also able to present Google Earth's honoree, Dr. Sylvia Earle with a mural painted by Ben Macedo.

Endangered Planet Foundation (EPF) is dedicated to ensuring the survival of the Earth through education, dialog and the recognition that innovations in technology can provide many of the answers which will lead to a sustainable future.
That may sounds like a lofty and unattainable goal, but Endangered Planet Foundation is dedicated to achieving that goal, and has already made significant contributions that are raising awareness of environmental issues not only in Laguna Beach, but around Southern California and even the world.
PROGRAMS
Since 2006, Endangered Planet Foundation has been providing ongoing multicultural educational experiences for all ages at benchmark quarterly equinox and solstice events and monthly Art Walks. Endangered Planet Foundation raises awareness of environmental concerns of the earth and its inhabitants and promotes their preservation through diverse and continually evolving educational and creative projects and events, which range from web site and email communications to displays of artwork and unique musical performances.
Through these efforts, EPF activities reach out to diverse groups of people of all ages and cultures, including students, businesses and corporations of every kind, schools, clubs, local families, and even tourists.
A prime example of how Endangered Planet Foundation has impacted the community at large is the One Earth / One Dream Environmental Festival last October that drew thousands of people of all ages to the event site at the Festival of Arts grounds. This four-day event included “Life on the Edge,” a symposium that included an impressive array of notable guest speakers such as UN Ambassador Chowdhury and National Geographic Eco-Ambassador Chris Jordan, National Geographic eco-ambassador and environmental photographer., panels and award winning films, and the “Autumnal Green Festival,” which featured more than 50 green exhibitors, a global Environmental Arts Mural, live entertainment, and more.
Activities included “Drive and Ride” demonstrations of the latest alternative energy cars; the Wyland Foundation Clean Water Mobile Exhibit Center; live global music; health, wellness and nutrition presentations as well as interactive children’s events and performances including painting of Shoes of Hope and Art Miles Environmental Mural Project (covered by CNN). Green exhibitors presented innovative products, information and demonstrations to help the public discover what they can do to sustain the planet.
For the event, Endangered Planet Foundation partnered with The Laguna Beach Visitors Bureau, Festival of Arts and Laguna Beach Magazine, as well as local schools, art venues, businesses and galleries, local hotels, musicians and entertainers. The event generated articles and photos in local and regional newspapers and magazines, plus several television spots.

Imagine…”Whirled Peace”-- Endangered Planet has participated in the annual International Art and Literacy project, PINWHEELS FOR PEACE event in September 2007 and 2008. Media coverage by local press and television. This was a wonderful project for scouts, school clubs, churches and senior centers. Basically, the participants wrote their thoughts about war and peace, tolerance, and living in harmony with others on one side of a pinwheel, and on the other side drew or painted to express their feelings visually. They assembled the pinwheels and then “planted” them as a public statement and art exhibit installation.
